Scottish SPCA seeks new home for abandoned snake named Jason MaBoa

A boa constrictor is looking for a forever home after being found abandoned.

Jason MaBoa, named after actor Jason Momoa, is looking for an experienced, fast and furious owner who has the confidence to handle this muscular creature.

The reptile has been at the SSPCA Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Edinburgh for nine days.

Staff at the centre said: “Just like his namesake, this is a handsome, muscular and friendly-natured guy.

“Jason MaBoa is a young 3 foot boa constrictor, looking to grow to about 4 to 6 feet.

“He attacks for food and is looking for an experienced and confident owner when it comes to feeding.

“He will need an appropriately sized enclosure with plenty of room to roam as he grows. This will include plenty of enrichment where he can slide around and spaces to curl up.”

Jason MaBoa is one of 16 snakes at SSPCA centres looking for a home.

Hiss Hemsworth is a bull snake who has been in central Dunbatonshire for 32 days and Rumple Snakeskin is a reticulated python who has been there for 125 days.

The charity urged potential new snake owners to do their research before adopting a reptile, including how big the animal will grow to, its eating habits and the environment it will need to thrive.

If you or someone you know can offer Jason or any other snake a permanent home, you can apply on the SSPCA website.
