Glasner Staff News: Updates from Wharton, Riad and Chalobah – News

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager gave an update on Adam Whartonwho retired from the England Under-21 squad earlier this month.

Glasner said: “He will be available. He just had to train individually last week and also have a few days off to recover.

“But when we started on Tuesday this week, he had all the training sessions, so he is available.”

The manager also gave an update on the progress of the Riad Chadi – injured two weeks ago against Norwich City – and Matheus Francewho is recovering from a fractured rib.

There was also news about new hires Trevoh Chalobah, the Chelsea loanee, who will not be available to make his Palace debut against Leicester on Saturday.

In Riyadh, Glasner said: “The doctors told us it would take eight to 12 weeks, so yes, a bit of time. At first we all thought maybe it would be worse, but the ACL is not torn, so that is important – but it will take several weeks.

“France is also unavailable. He is approaching training camp. We mentioned that he has ruptured his rib and it is just painful, but he is already starting to train individually on the pitch.

“Unfortunately Trevoh Chalobah He injured his abdominal muscles in his first session with us, so it was a really weird injury.

“He won’t be available tomorrow either but I don’t think it will be long but he is also questionable for QPR and Manchester United (next week).”
