Man appears in court charged with violent disorder

A 35-year-old man has appeared in court charged with violent disorder following riots in Bristol last month.

Ashley Hunt, of St George, Bristol, was charged on Monday and appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court earlier.

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on September 17.

Avon and Somerset Police said a total of 49 people were arrested following the disorder on Saturday, August 3, and 36 were subsequently charged.
