Turkey coach Vincenzo Montella gave fresh insight into the well-being of Real Madrid sensation Arda Güler on Sunday.

Young Güler’s name, of course, made headlines in the Spanish capital last Friday night.

It comes after the 19-year-old was forced to make an early exit from Turkey’s Nations League game against Wales.

On the way to a goalless draw in Cardiff, with just a few minutes remaining, Güler fell to the ground in obvious pain, clutching his calf.

The midfielder was subsequently withdrawn, raising alarm bells at Real Madrid, who have been ravaged by injuries in recent weeks.

Subsequent reports have allayed concerns about any kind of prolonged absence for Güler, with the aforementioned Vincenzo Montella, as mentioned above, providing further insight into the situation on Sunday:

“Arda Güler took a knock towards the end of the match,” the tactician began. “He couldn’t walk comfortably yesterday. Even if he doesn’t train with the team today, we will assess whether he can start or come on as a substitute.”
