Man United planning bold move for French star as Casemiro replacement

Manchester United could make a surprise move by signing French international Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.

The Red Devils have splashed out in the summer transfer market as part of a squad overhaul by Erik ten Hag, including a deadline day deal to bring in Uruguayan star Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, with a mixed start to the season dominating the headlines at Old Trafford, more changes are expected in the coming months.

Casemiro has been singled out as a symbol of the team’s struggles, with the veteran Brazilian tipped to leave after a poor performance in the 3-0 Premier League defeat to Liverpool before the international break.

Despite links to Turkey before the transfer window closed, Casemiro is expected to remain in charge until at least the end of 2024, with the situation to be reviewed in the January window.

According to reports from Teamtalk.com, United are already planning for life without Casemiro, and signing Rabiot would add experience to their squad should the former Real Madrid star move on.

Rabiot is available on a free transfer outside the transfer window after his contract with Juventus expires in July.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Rabiot is not interested in moving to Turkey or Saudi Arabia as he wants to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

United are rumoured to be ready to enter preliminary talks with Rabiot’s representatives if they are convinced by the 29-year-old’s willingness to move to Manchester.
