UFC 304 News: Paddy Pimblett Signs New Contract

Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett is here to stay in the UFC.

UFC 304: Paddy Pimblett reveals four-fight plan to reach lightweight title

Scheduled to fight King Green in Manchester, England this weekend, UFC 304 was supposed to be the final fight of Pimblett’s promotional contract.

With options open, the 29-year-old from Liverpool made it clear that his goal from the start would be to re-sign with the UFC, where he hopes to be champion one day, but he alluded to fighting outside the organization if the money was enough.

“You never know, though. Some of these idiot YouTubers who are boxing might end up offering me millions to end up fighting one of them. So we’ll see what happens,” Pimblett said. MMA addict about free agency a few weeks ago.

Fast forward to fight week and Pimblett’s future elsewhere has been put on hold as he signed a new UFC contract ahead of his first ranked opportunity against Green.

“New contract signed for all of them (expletive) saying I’ll go anywhere. I’m not going anywhere, (expletive),” Pimblett announced in UFC 304 Embedded Episode 5.

Pimblett’s longtime manager Graham Boylan confirmed the news to ‘X’, writing that Pimblett is “very happy to see that your value has been recognized and generously rewarded.”

Making his UFC debut in 2021, Pimblett has won five consecutive fights at lightweight, arguably the deepest division in the UFC.

“The Baddy” last fought former interim champion Tony Ferguson via decision, and while many have criticized his performances of late, Pimblett will look to turn the tables in his toughest fight yet against UFC veteran King Green, ranked No. 15.

Ahead of the fight, Pimblett was perplexed to see so many headlines saying his UFC career could come to an end on Saturday.

“Why would I leave the UFC?” Pimblett said at UFC 304 media day before renewing his contract. “I mean, it’s been taken so far out of context. Every single thing I do, people create a narrative around it and change it. I can’t fucking go anywhere without people talking about it, man, and creating it, saying, ‘Oh, he shits in someone’s face…'”

“What I said in the interview was obviously the UFC. I’m going to get a new contract, but if they offered me millions to fight some asshole YouTuber, I would do it. Who wouldn’t do that to award-winning fighters?… As if the UFC would let me go, they’re just kidding.”

Paddy Pimblett’s next fight against King Green takes place on the main card of UFC 304 Pay-Per-View – live from Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
