Reds ‘prepared’ for superstar’s ‘shock’ move to Bayern Munich, with sale costing a ‘fortune’

Bayern Munich are “very interested” in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, with a report detailing Vincent Kompany’s influence on the move alongside the Reds’ replacement plans.

Alisson, 31, is arguably the best goalkeeper at the moment and has established himself as a great Liverpool player during his six-plus year spell at Anfield.

However, speculation about a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia increased, and for a new Sun updatea “shock transfer” within Europe is now also possible.

German giants Bayern Munich were said to be “very interested” in signing Alisson amid growing doubts over Manuel Neuer’s long-term viability. The veteran is 38 years old and is one of 13 Bundesliga big names who are out of contract in 2025.

Bayern – at the request of coach Vincent Kompany – are reportedly considering a move “possibly as early as the end of the season”.

Kompany has been described as a “big fan” of the Brazilian goalkeeper and would be the driving force behind Bayern’s “ambitious” pursuit of Alisson.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are said to have demanded a “fortune” before letting their star depart, although it has been claimed they are “prepared” for an exit. Alisson is contracted until 2027, meaning the Reds are not under immediate pressure to sell.

Liverpool’s replacement plan; Alisson’s position when leaving

The Reds made just two first-team signings over the summer – Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa.

Georgian goalkeeper Mamardashvili is seen as Alisson’s long-term successor at Liverpool and is currently on loan at Valencia. The 24-year-old will arrive on Merseyside next summer.

The Sun reaffirmed that Mamardashvili has been hired to eventually replace Alisson, although it is not yet known exactly when the torch will be passed.

In fact, Alisson previously revealed that while he saw the logic of Liverpool safeguarding their future by signing Mamardashvili, he stressed that he is perfectly happy to remain at Liverpool for the long term.

Alisson said at the end of August: “I think it was a good idea, I knew (Mamardashvili) before it was promoted on social media and that is a good message for me because the club cares about what I think.

“They are doing the right thing from my point of view, but from my side, as long as I have my contract here and as long as I am happy here, the club will be happy with me, my family will be happy here, I will stay.”

One possible solution for Liverpool, as Alisson shows no signs of declining, is to try and loan Mamardashvili out for a second season.

Of course, that scenario would depend on the Georgian being prepared to accept another postponement before becoming Liverpool’s No.1.

Salah/Zubimendi confidence on the move?

In other news, Liverpool hope to extend Mohamed Salah’s contract despite persistent speculation he will head to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season.

Elsewhere, former Everton winger Arnaut Danjuma – currently on loan at Girona from Villarreal – has made a come-and-get-me request to Liverpool.

Talking to ESPN Netherlands Program From Voetbalkantine, Danjuma said: “As a player, you have to be ambitious and if a big club comes along, you should always consider it. I don’t think there will be many people sitting around the table who will say no to Liverpool.

“Feyenoord showed a little more interest in me (in 2023). This especially happened when Slot was the coach there. I thought about it at the time and spoke to Slot. I’m a fan of his style of play and I have a lot of confidence in him as a coach.”

Finally, Manchester City are emerging as serious contenders to sign Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi in January.

Pep Guardiola’s team is looking for a replacement for Rodri, whose season ended after knee surgery.

There are suggestions that Zubimendi regrets not moving to England in the summer, although Liverpool could re-enter the picture if there is a deal to be done.
