Kirsty Ellis will provide strategic leadership to the 3,000-home owner’s housing and communities directorate.

She has more than two decades of experience in the housing sector, most recently as director of housing and communities at Cynon Taf Community Housing Group.

In this position, she oversaw services including maintenance, support and tenant engagement.

Before that, Ellis was director of business development at homelessness charity Llamau and head of housing at Newydd Housing Association.

She also spent more than a decade as a non-executive director of Coastal Housing Group.

In her new role at CCHA, Ms. Ellis will ensure teams meet their priorities and align with the organization’s corporate plan.

Brian Pickett, chief executive of CCHA, said Ms Ellis “completes a new corporate leadership team to take CCHA into its next phase”.

He said: “She joins with a wealth of experience in the Welsh social housing sector and will use this experience to drive our new customer experience strategy as well as supporting me in delivering our new corporate plan.”

CCHA aims to build 50 to 100 new homes a year in Cardiff through its development programme.

Ellis said: “I have witnessed from afar the transformative journey that the CCHA has been on over the last few years and I am thrilled to now be part of the team contributing to the next stage of this exciting evolution.”

His appointment comes after Andrew Bradley was appointed corporate director of assets and property at the Cardiff-based owner in July.

Bradley said: “Thanks to increased investment and significant funding, our existing properties have undergone considerable improvements over the last five years.

“We prioritized fire safety in medium to high-end buildings and improved energy efficiency by modernizing low-rated houses (Energy Performance Certificate). This has not only made our properties safer, but also more affordable for our tenants.

“Planned maintenance will continue to be a key focus and I look forward to working with tenants to ensure we continue to deliver the homes and services they want and need.”
